I have a So Speaky 1TB model just purchased and have tried on 2 TVs using the AV cables, so connecting to the red/white/yellow sockets on the TV. As on Dane-Elec's website I pressed the remote's Video button and waited a few seconds to cycle between output options.

On one TV I could just make out a really distorted image and on the other I got absolutely nothing. Here are my experiences: - SoSpeaky 500GB - 64M Firmware 3.51 - Sound, coming from the AV out --> fine - Picture, coming from the VGA --> fine, AV --> not tested yet - During the initiation seqence the HD is searching (for support files) on the HDD for a very long time, even when I stop playing a file and go back to the menu this takes a long time, I look at 'searching' then.

Maybe it is because I backedup nearly 400 GB to this HD, the manualpage says that it is best practise to create 3 Folders --> Music, Pictures and Movie, this should shorten the searching seqences. I am running this HD on an Panasonic 50' plasma TV with VGA, and the picture quality, after setting up the right out device is really good, only some DivX files are not playable.
