I need to move my program to my new computer, I found instructions on how to copy the installation file over to the new computer and have done so but it is asking for a serial number which I don't have. I saw another thread with a similar problem and it was suggested there might be an installation file on the old computer with a serial number. I would love to look but have no idea what the file would be called in order to search for it. I'm simply trying to move it from one Windows 7 computer to another, it seems like it shouldn't be so difficult!

I've done what you are trying to do. I ordered FTM 2012 and then later also 2014 when it came out, and downloaded and installed onto my Win 8 64bit laptop and had to use that serial code. When lightning zapped my machine, I then dug out my old laptop, a Vista 32bit machine. I did like you, I copied my downloaded exe.

File onto the Vista machine and clicked to install and it required my serial code again. No problem, I still had it in the email (still do) and just copy pasted that and I've had zilch problems with it, on either machine. I can still use the copy on the Win 8 machine, I just can't connect to the internet until I get me one of those USB to Ethernet converters. When I do, I'll just go back to using that machine and save my old laptop here with the second install for any other 'emergencies'. Note: I did that with both 2012 and 2014. Copied the download exe.
